September 2017: Back to School!

September is a busy month, both in the US and in Haiti, with lots of back-to-school excitement! This is an amazing time of the year at TOHH, because we get to see all our sponsored kids start school!

 We are always so grateful for our child sponsors. You are changing the lives of so many children in our community. As the children go back to school this September, we want to take this opportunity to send a extra special 'thank you' to all the child sponsors who make this possible for the children!

We are so proud of each and every one of our sponsored children, and of the progress they have made in school. They love school, and are so grateful for the opportunity to attend through sponsorship. We visited the children on their first day in school, and were so happy to share the pictures of their smiling faces! We had so much fun putting on a birthday party for them this month, complete with cake and presents! The kids were so excited to come be part of the party.

During the month of September, we also introduced several new mission trips that will be traveling to Tree of Hope Haiti in the upcoming year. We hope you consider joining one (or more) of them!


May Home Building Trip: May 7-14, 2018
This team will be building a home for a family in need in Haiti. At the end of their one-week stay in Haiti, the team will present the home to the family through a home blessing ceremony. The team will also be exploring Haiti through activities such as a trip to Taino Beach. No construction or building experience is necessary to join this trip. Medical Trip: June 2-9, 2018
Calling all doctors, nurses, dentists, medical professionals, and those studying to become medical professionals! We are forming a medical team to travel to Haiti for one week, and need your help! In just our community of Ikondo in Grand-Goâve, Haiti alone, there are hundreds of people in need of medical care. June Sponsorship Trip: June 16-23, 2018
The June Sponsorship Trip 2018 will be attending the graduation for our sponsored children who are in Preschool 3 or their last year of high school. The team will visit the sponsored children’s homes, and do a variety of activities with the kids such as crafts, baking, and movie night. TOHH Summer Camp 2017 was a success, and we are looking for volunteers willing to come to Haiti and help with TOHH Summer Camp 2018! Volunteers may sign up for one or more weeks during the summer to come work with the children. During the mornings, we will be teaching Math and English using reading, writing, crafts, games, and other activities. During the afternoons, we will be exploring our community in Grand-Goâve and helping the children write letters to their sponsors. Apply here: www.treeofhopehaiti.org/volunteers/application

Would you like to lead your own team to Haiti?

Are you a church or school group? TOHH accepts missionary teams of 10 - 24 people. Once you have a team forming, contact us to request dates and begin preparing your team for Haiti. To submit your request for a one- to two-week trip, please email us at info@treeofhopehaiti.org.

Would you like to be a part of our TOHH story? Mark your mark in Grand-Goâve, Haiti by purchasing a block(s), column(s), or section(s) through our Buy-A-Block Fundraiser!

We are currently accepting donations to help us build a community pavilion where we will host TOHH summer camp, as well as a variety of other activities such as health seminars, Bible studies, discipleship classes, and more. We are so happy about the building of this safe, fun area for our community to learn, grow, and enjoy life to the fullest!

Blocks are great gifts for graduations, birthdays, weddings, and other special occasions. With your block purchase, you may choose to write your signature of choice on your block(s)! Those who have purchased blocks thus far have written their own names, names of family members, or names of their sponsored children, remembered special days, commemorated those they love, and more.
