May 2017: Exciting News!

Thank you for making the month of May a success at TOHH! We are so happy about the progress we have made, especially on our Pavilion Project!














We had lots of mail go out to our child sponsors and supporters this month! Just in the month of May, we sent out 69 child letters! We love keeping children and their sponsors connected, and these letters are a huge part of that! We also sent out two postcards to those on our mailing list! We sent out postcards about our 2nd Annual Meet and Greet and our 2017 Annual Report.

April 30, 2017 ~ Breaking Ground on the TOHH Pavilion

This month we have been working on our Pavilion Project! At the end of April, we broke ground and began leveling the land where the pavilion will be built. After that, we dug the trench for the wall. We are so excited about this project, and can't wait to continue working on it! We have currently raised $5,000 of the $15,000 needed for Phase 1 of the Pavilion Project. Our month started with a big birthday party! Our Child Sponsorship Program has grown so much, and we are so happy! Now that we have 104 children sponsored, it has become difficult for us to have a separate birthday party for each sponsored child on their birthday.






So, we are having one big party each month for all the children with birthdays in that month! We had a wonderful party for our May kids on May 1st!

At the beginning of May, we also said "see you later" to Cassandra, who left after staying with us for 5 weeks. She will be back at the end of May to lead our May Sponsorship Trip!

We are so happy to announce that we have officially given out all the goats purchased as Christmas gifts for the sponsored children!! It has been very difficult for us to find goats since Hurricane Matthew, as many livestock perished in the storm. Since October, prices have risen and goats (as well as other animals) have become scarce.

The remaining four children (Lucienne, Thedson, Rosemitha, and Philaure) received their goats at the beginning of May! A big thank you to all sponsors who purchased goats and other gifts for their sponsored children as Christmas gifts!!

We are so grateful for all of our generous, kind TOHH sponsors! One sponsor, Brenda, has been purchasing food monthly for her sponsored child, Steph Dony, and his mother, Delcame, for the past few months. Delcame is severely malnourished, and the only caretaker in Steph Dony's life. We are hoping that this gift of food will help give her strength and make her healthy! Over the past few months, we had not seen Delcame gain weight. So, we increased the amount of protein and vegetables that we were giving to Delcame. Between the months of April and May, Delcame gained 3 pounds!! We are so happy!! Thank you Brenda - you are truly changing lives!

Signing up for sponsorship in our TOHH office!

We had lots of children and families come to our office in Haiti to sign up for sponsorship this month!  One of these families caught our eye, and we shared their story on Facebook. The Louis Family lives in a one-room tin house on rented land. Both parents are unemployed and having a hard time finding work. They sometimes receive food from neighbors, if it is available. After signing them up for our sponsorship program, we gave them rice, beans, macaroni, and baby food. We are so grateful to those who donate to TOHH - it is because of you that we are able to give food and other supplies to families like the Louis Family!



During May we also celebrated Mother's Day! Thank you to all the sponsor "mothers" to our TOHH sponsored children! It is because of your care, love, and support that the children in our program are able to earn their education!

2nd Annual TOHH Meet and Greet!

We're getting ready for our 2nd Annual TOHH Meet and Greet! This event is open to everyone, and we'd love to see you there!
















Our 2nd Annual TOHH Meet and Greet will be held June 9th, 2017 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. It will be held at the Hope Chapel in Sterling, MA.

Come meet with Gama and Angela as they share the progress TOHH has made in the past year and our vision for the future! We will have food, info booths, an annual presentation, raffles, and an opportunity to hear about how TOHH has impacted the lives of those involved with our mission.

Plus, we will be selling Haitian cookbooks with all the delicious recipes that our missionaries enjoy while at our TOHH Guesthouse in Haiti!

We will also be sharing how you can get involved whether it be through coming on a mission trip, sponsoring a child, building a home, helping fund a water project, or partnering with TOHH through monthly support.

Holiday Sponsorship Trip 2017:

December 27, 2017 - January 3, 2018

We currently have spots available on the Holiday Sponsorship 2017 Team! This team will be doing a variety of activities with the sponsored children! These include home visits to the children's homes, crafts, baking, a holiday party, a hike, a trip to the beach, and a possible home improvement project (additional cost, to be discussed at pre-trip meetings).

This team will have pre-trip meetings before traveling to Haiti. The cost of each trip is as follows:

$125 - Deposit (includes the cost of a TOHH shirt that we request you wear on travel day)

$450 - TOHH Guesthouse Fee (includes three meals/day, housing, transport to and from the airport in Haiti, and operations costs)

Flights - Purchased by each volunteer at a pre-trip meeting
